I really need to take the photograph of this painting over again, I did not use a tripod and the lighting was poor so the image quality is pretty bad. This is a placeholder though, to remind be to do that ASAP. For now though I felt like posting this one tonight for some reason.

Man at the Wall

Since I've been posting all these badly drawn doodles lately I figured it was time to start snapping pictures of some of my larger paintings. This is one of, if not -the most- favorite painting of mine that I've ever done.  read more »

Bunnyface (Detail)

Here is a closer view of the Bunnyface painting. Again, this is intended to be viewed from all angles. Also, this version is a little darker/richer colors than the original in order to better show the details.

Death of Professor Plum

[image] Ancient Work, Painting: Acrylic

A painting commemorating the break up of the first “real” band that I was in. The guilty-looking figure in the center has sprouted “horns” in reference to The Horn, the band that spun off of the breakup.

Observations of the Astronaut

Another old collage of pen and ink sketches, colored pencil illustrations, and even some acrylic paint - all glued together on canvas.

Bunnyface

Bunnyface has no top or bottom and so must be viewed from all four sides. There is a great level of detail in the original painting that sadly is completely lost in the scanned and compressed rendering. I think this is probably one of the weirdest paintings that I’ve ever done.

The Wait

Although I have received many compliments on this painting in the past, often people have asked if it is supposed to be Humphrey Bogart in the picture. An honest question, but the resounding answer is "it is not".

The actual idea I had was of a man in a bar in purgatory, endlessly waiting for something that never comes.

Parrot

[image] Ancient Work, Painting: Acrylic

A very old and very creepy painting that I did years ago. The name "parrot" is a humorous reference to the two-headed mandible-jawed bizarre demon-familiar - or whatever it is that is sitting on that torso's shoulder. It is resting there much like a parrot would on an archetypal pirate's shoulder, for instance.

A painting that I did many years ago, based on a photo detail of a portion of one of Michelangelo's fresco paintings, The Last Judgement.  read more »
